The Brief
The school wanted to rethink its classroom furniture, with a focus on comfort, functionality and contemporary design.
Pinnacle were asked to:
- Replace all loose furniture, including student chairs, tables and the teacher's desk
- Introduce more ergonomic furniture
- Create a fresh, contemporary classroom design
What We Did
After a visit to the VS factory with Pinnacle, the school's Facilities Manager and Estates Manager were able to see the furniture first-hand and explore the options available. The visit reignited their interest in the range and gave them greater confidence moving forward.
From there, Pinnacle was appointed to design the layout for the trial classroom, working within the VS furniture range to put forward a scheme that balanced practicality with a fresh look. Pinnacle also arranged sample chairs for teachers and students to try, gathering practical feedback on comfort and suitability for the classroom.
The teachers and students tested the furniture in real conditions and chose their preferred colours from the VS palette, giving them a say in the design of the space they would use every day.
The Result
As the first of potentially several classroom refurbishments, this project has done more than refresh one room. The completed space now features modern, ergonomic VS furniture, tested and selected by its users, and Wellington College is now looking to replace furniture in additional classrooms across the block.
By combining a factory visit, hands-on trials and collaborative design, Pinnacle helped Wellington College move from exploring the VS range to finding a furniture solution that genuinely works for its teachers and students.
