International School Zurich North is a multicultural day school located in the northeastern suburbs of Zurich, Switzerland, catering to students aged 3 to 18. The school community is made up of over 200 students from approximately 35 different countries, creating a diverse and dynamic environment.
The school approached Pinnacle to fit out several areas of their campus, including the Reception, Primary Years Space, Art Rooms, Parent Café, and the library.
The Brief
Our task was to develop an interior design scheme in collaboration with the client, ensuring that the design was functional, aesthetic, and aligned with the school’s values. The goal was to create flexible, welcoming, and inspiring spaces for students, staff, and visitors, with a focus on high-quality, durable furniture solutions.
What We Did
We supplied both fitted and loose furniture for multiple areas across the school, transforming a variety of spaces into modern, functional, and inviting environments.
The areas we worked on included:
- Reception - Incorporated the school’s logo into the design of the reception counter, making a strong visual statement and reinforcing the school’s brand identity from the moment visitors enter.
- Primary Years Space - Placed tiered modular seating, providing flexibility for group activities and ensuring the space could be adapted for various teaching methods.
- Art Rooms - Selected Konvolve furniture to complement the creative and dynamic environment of the art rooms, offering movable and flexible solutions for a range of artistic activities.
- Parent Café - Designed a relaxed space with seating divided by planters, promoting both privacy and a natural, comfortable atmosphere for parents to relax or work.
- Library - Furnished the space to create a flexible, inviting environment for both quiet study and group collaboration.
The Result
This project not only marked a significant milestone as our first project in Zurich for Cognita Schools but also reinforced our reputation as a trusted partner for creating high-quality educational environments. The client’s satisfaction with the outcome further solidified our strong, long-term relationship with the Cognita Schools group.
