Hounsome Fields Primary School is a new primary school, part of the Engage Enrich Excel Academies Trust (EEEA), dedicated to putting children first and creating an engaging, enjoyable learning experience. Pinnacle were appointed by Wilmott Dixon to deliver the full fitted furniture across two floors. The aim was to create an environment that supports flexible learning, provides ample storage, and reflects the school’s modern ethos.
The Brief
The school’s requirements focused on three key objectives:
- Provide organised, accessible storage across all areas
- Place fitted furniture to support group learning, independent study and movement
- Install modern, robust furniture that is both visually appealing and built to last
The overall vision was to develop a bright, welcoming and highly functional environment that enhances everyday teaching and learning.
What We Did
On the ground floor, we delivered practical, well-organised spaces for pupils and staff. The reception features bespoke benching, a reception desk, and integrated storage, creating a smart and welcoming entrance. Within the classrooms we placed various fixed furniture such as shelving, cupboards, and mobile storage, while the library included cupboards, bookshelves, and a mobile reading nest.
SPT rooms were fitted with a bespoke mobile island counter for adaptability, and teapoints include individual bag stalls for staff. Wet rooms, changing, hygiene, and interview rooms were completed with durable fitted units to ensure tidy, functional spaces throughout.
On the first floor, a key feature was the bespoke Learning Resource Centre (LRC) balustrade, designed to maximise space with upholstered seating and integrated drawer storage, providing informal seating with hidden storage. The staffroom kitchen was fitted with base and wall units, splashbacks, and solid surface worktops for a modern, practical space, while Teacherwalls in the meeting room, staff room, and office delivered tailored storage and display solutions.
The Result
Every space has been carefully designed to balance storage and aesthetics. The result is a bright, modern and practical learning environment that supports both staff and pupils — ensuring that at Hounsome Fields Primary School, children have the space they need to learn and grow.
